Inspection & grading

Nobody should have to open a pallet to find out what they bought.

The whole wholesale trade runs on trust in a manifest. We publish our grading standard, audit against it monthly, and credit the difference when we get it wrong. That's the entire pitch.

Yield percentages are historical averages against original retail and vary by sector, brand and season.

The manifest

What's in every listing before you make an offer

No lot goes on the floor without all of this. If a field can't be supplied, the listing says so explicitly rather than leaving it blank.

  • Line-item detail — SKU or model, description, and unit count
  • Grade distribution — how many units at each grade, not just an overall label
  • Original retail — per unit and extended across the lot
  • Photographs — the staged lot plus a random sample pulled at grading
  • Provenance — the type of source, disclosed to the extent confidentiality allows
  • Pallet count, weight and cube — so freight can be quoted accurately
  • Known defects — anything found at grading, stated plainly
  • Restrictions — export-only, de-branding or channel limits where they apply
Your options

Three ways to verify

Walk it yourself

Every lot over $50,000 has a scheduled inspection window at the warehouse holding it. Bring whoever you like.

Send an inspector

Third-party inspectors are welcome and we'll accommodate their schedule. We don't require them to use our forms.

Name ten units

Can't travel? Name any ten line items and we'll pull, photograph and function-test them individually within one business day.

If we get it wrong

The arbitration window

01

Report within 7 days

Seven calendar days from delivery for general merchandise, 48 hours for vehicles on undisclosed structural or title defects. Photograph what you found and send the pallet or unit identifiers.

02

We verify against the grade

Our grading team pulls the original inspection record and photographs. If what arrived doesn't match what we published, that's on us — there's no negotiation about whose standard applies.

03

Credit or return

Confirmed discrepancies are credited to your account at the manifested value, or the affected units are returned at our freight cost. Financed balances are adjusted at the same time.

Arbitration covers discrepancies against the published manifest and grade. It does not cover buyer's remorse, market movement, or units graded D/salvage, which are sold untested and as-is by definition. Full terms in our Terms of Sale.
